oroitsme takes a brief look at the new single from ikimonogakari, and promptly declares the puppets of the band members “a horrible mistake.” At this point I think it’s safe to say that I’m the only one who found them cute. But it’s a largely positive review, and the PV is embedded into the post for those of you who haven’t taken a look at this song yet.
oroitsme has short but sweet first impressions on several of the new drama starting this month, giving you a good idea of what to expect of them. If you haven’t decided what to watch from this season yet, now’s your chance! So what is everyone going for, assuming you even watch J-drama? I’m thinking at least Innocent Love and Oh! My Girl just for Horikita Maki and Kato Rosa, respectively. Kato is such a hottie! Also, why won’t Ueto Aya just go away?
Now here should be a fun question for people to answer. Oroitsme at fly to high has a few questions about what releases people purchase. The entry also asks about the reasons why or why you don’t purchase releases and the means of how you can afford it if you do. The entry seems to be asking about physical purchases, but I also think the question can be expanded to digital releases as well. In the case of digital purchase though, the question, in most cases, is a would or would not instead of a why or why not. The questions that oroitsme has posed have a lot of a potential. If any of you please, I’d be really interested in responses that really expand into this question. There are many reasons that fans have for why or why not they purchase releases.

Recommended reading. oritsme has a very enjoyable write-up on the latest from Aichin. I especially liked the line, “as a video it’s an effervescent visual treat” - it makes me imagine her playing the piano in a huge glass of Alka Seltzer.
oroitsme has the details on this upcoming release. The fact that Seamo wrote it makes me wish he’d be in the PV, dressed up like a Mexican with a really bad fake mustache.
oroitsme goes back to look at these episodes of the Perfume show. In the ninth episode, they get harassed by some guy in a bowl haircut - oh wait, he’s a comedian, that explains it - and the tenth episode has background information on the group and some concert footage. The screencaps are great, and it’s a quick, fun read.
Recommended reading. oroitsme has a very nice write-up on what looks to be a very nifty merchandise tie-in. The pictures of the black sneakers strike me as particular droolworthy, though for the price of these shoes I could probably get two minutes alone with HSJ’s Ryosuke-san… Ahh, there’s a merch tie-in worth drooling over.
Oroistme breaks down the half-yearly singles chart and finds that Johnny’s is dominating once again. In fact, a full 50% of the top 20 come from JE. Really though, is anyone very surprised by this?
Recommended reading. oroitsme provides a fun look at these two episodes from Perfume’s current TV show, as the girls do interesting things like, um, shop for clothes… and shop for electronic goods. This is a fun, well-screencapped read. And Good Lord, if I could only dress Perfume however I liked… or get them to buy me stuff…
