I think I gave this a recommended when the live performance was leaked, I thought it was pretty exciting. It still turned out to be a pretty good song, but the PV is just ok. A commenter laments HALCALI’s fate as anime theme providers. I think it’d be stupid not to do them given the chance, but I also wish they were seen as more than that at this point. One way to do that would be making really innovative videos! Some of their videos really are great but it didn’t sell the songs very well. Do videos matter anymore? They sure got my attention back in the day. I can never figure out where this group is going. They are trying to be more grown up, but that shouldn’t mean boring. And it’s also already a not-that-grown-up anime theme…it’s a little confusing what they are trying to go for. If they are unsure themselves, it’s being communicated perfectly.

And I kinda wish people in general would give the vocoder/autotune thing a rest. A permanent rest. But it’s a decent song. I hate to complain about this group. Still think people stuck on only the first record are crazy and this will win new fans.

Jariten shares a live clip of the upcoming HALCALI single. I think this could be a big hit, and not just with anime fans who don’t like any other songs except Tip Taps Tip. (I love that song, but this one actually sounds like a HALCALI song, but it also sounds new AND it’s not a ballad. Yay yay, yay.) Recommended.

jariten has news that the duo will be taking part in an album paying tribute to the manga artist and his creation, Tensai Bakabon, collaborating with Nona Reeves for “Sukisuki Song”.

Jariten has a setlist for HC’s last gig and they may have another new song. It’s title is both slightly arousing and disturbing however, and not in the typical J-pop manner. It was the name of a Japanese movie (so was Tandem); maybe it’s just a title, or a song from the movie? It seems like they are working on a new album anyway.

He also shares a the b-side to Yosuke@Home’s new single, which features the girls on guest chorus. I like that they are getting these guest spots; they seem to be liked among other musicians. If they do enough of them, they’ll soon be known as the greatest rappers alive. It’s an objective standard now, so I say go for it.
