Wonder Girls on So You Think You Can Dance (OMONA THEY DIDN’T!)

As previously reported, the Wonder Girls performed their hit single, “Nobody”, on So You Think You Can Dance today! It was actually just an hour ago for my timezone, but videos of the performance have already been uploaded! While OMONA posts generally don’t have much opinion (because it is a news report, not an opinion piece), I love to read the comments for these posts. I saw two comments I thought were worth sharing, first off: jyurian21 posted two screencaps from the WGSpectacle twitter account, and the Wonder Girls were the #1 searched Google topic during the time of the screencap! It seems they’re making a bit of a splash in mainstream American culture, aren’t they? I love that their hotness level is “volcanic”; how many “So Hot” jokes do you think I could make with a cap like that? However, on the other hand, margarette_mkj posted the link to the SYTYCD LJ community live comment thread. Judging from the few comments regarding the Wonder Girls on there, it wasn’t exactly received well. As ______sparksfly so eloquently put it in his or her comment, “lol wtf is thisssss”. Is that going to be the general reaction to the Wonder Girls? Or will they be seen as America’s next hottest group? I really do hope they make it big (even if it means hearing teenaged girls trying and failing at the song/dance at school everyday), so I hope the general opinion of them changes! At any rate, it was great to see the Wonder Girls on American TV and I hope this is the beginning of many more TV appearances for them.
