Pata Meets the Idols of His Dreams and Lives to Tell the Tale

The Idols You Can Meet Encore: 3/5 of Team Hormone and Half of the Kabuki Sisters (Delicious Cake Project!)
I have become an AKB meme.
The Summer of Idols Encore: The Last Song

Pata from Delicious Cake Project! also went to MAX and Anime Expo and he has a very unique experience to share with us. I loved reading his nightly posts and living vicariously through his encounters with AKB48. I don’t want to summarize his adventures too much (it’d be quite an injustice to his story!), but he was able to interview four of the members, create an actual inside joke between him and the girls, and get some great autographs! As many of us probably are, I’m incredibly jealous of his experience and hope to have a similar one if I ever get to interview an idol group!

Hajimete no Keiken: Amy’s First Time Seeing Mano Erina!

Okay, as I mentioned in my earlier post, I went to Club 2 The MAX today to see Mano Erina as an IW press member. Sadly, CK could not show up for this event (so I was rather worried by myself! people are scary, you know?), but I had enough fun for the both of us, I hope. I’m going to just go through a recap of everything that happened today, please excuse any fangirliness that might pop up, I’m a bit of a spazz. And I apologize for the loooooong post; I know some people love to hear exact recaps of EVERYTHING that happened while others just want a short summary. If you want the summary, just scroll down to the end!

International Wota Will Be at Anime Expo and MAX!

Good news, everyone! I (Amy, your friendly admin) will be representing IW along with your other friendly admin CK at MAX and Anime Expo tomorrow, July 1st. I will be at MAX all day to watch Mano Erina’s screening, mini-concert, and other events; CK will be at both AX and MAX. Let’s make more summer memories with Mano Erina and AKB48! Check back tomorrow night for more information!

When Fandoms Collide: Orange Caramel Copied A C-ute Song?

Orange Caramel’s “Magic Girl” Plagerized? (omonatheydidnt)
°C-ute’s song plagiarized by K-Pop group? [Updated] (Hello!Online)

Oh my. Hello!Online’s Kuno has pointed out that After School’s new subunit, Orange Caramel, has released their debut single and it’s very similar to something we’re all much more familiar with here: C-ute’s Hare no Platinum Doori! When “Magic Girl” was released, I thought it was very cute and commenters said it was too “jpop” for them, but I didn’t think of C-ute at all! I applaud Kuno for his fine hearing and I definitely see the resemblance in the video he posted over at H!O, but I don’t think Orange Caramel will get into huge trouble for this. I really hope that the netizens don’t catch this and raise a fuss, because I’m fine with both songs. What is interesting, however, is checking out the comments from both sides of this argument–why all the hate for the opposite genre?

Everyone Has That Friend Who Wants to Learn More About J-Pop

5 Songs I Would Recommends to an Inexperienced J-popper (fields of maiZe in the morning)

This post is long overdue–sorry, maiZe!–but I absolutely loved it! maiZe responds to MorningBerryz’s request for songs to introduce inexperienced listeners to J-Pop. I love maiZe’s taste in music and this post is a good dip into her favorite artists. I don’t want to spoil which ones she posted, but I can say that I love them! Especially the last two, two of my favorites <3 What do you all think, would you show your inexperienced friends these songs or do you have your own list?

Need Help Learning About the Members of the New Team K? Max Can Help!

NEW Team K! (目の前の歌・紅・芽・意)

I’ve honestly become slightly turned off to the idea of learning about AKB48; I know people say it’s not that difficult once you get into it, but I still find the entire task of learning about all the members far too daunting. But if you are like me, have no fear! Max at 目の前の歌・紅・芽・意 (what a mouthful!) has written a good post about the members of the new Team K. I say “good” because there’s no other adjective for Max’s post–it isn’t so short that you barely learned anything about the girls, but it is still long enough that you get an idea of each girl’s strengths and personality. Recommended reading for anyone who wants to learn more about the members of AKB48 but doesn’t know where to even begin learning!

Two Blogs Update Their Idol Rankings

Complete Morning Musume Ranking (Wota (in training))
AKB48 Ranking (香水)

First off, Yanki☆Mina has posted her top 15 Morning Musume from all generations. She gives a short explanation for the rankings and I’m pleased to see that she likes many of the older generations rather than being swept up with the current girls. Next, Wendy at 香水 has redone her AKB48 rankings because she’s learned more about the girls since her last ranking! Her #1 choice is obvious (hmm I wonder who that girl is on Wendy’s background wallpaper :P ), but can you guess who her other favorites are? All I’m going to say is Erena is too low and Tomomi Itano is too high for my liking.

Wotaku Now! Has a Helpful Introduction to the Wonders of Momoiro Clover

What the bloody hell is Momoiro Clover ??? (Wotaku Now!)

If you’ve been following CK’s Idolgasm recently, Momoiro Clover may not be news to you. But, if you have no clue where these adorable girls came from and why the community has been abuzz about them, Shirow at Wotaku Now! has the answer! The 6-nin group recently went major with their latest single, Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo, and have garnered a lot of attention in the process. I personally find their yukata gimmick to be refreshing compared to other idols right now; they’re certainly a group to watch out for. And to help you learn more about these girls, Shirow has a bit of information about the girls, their releases, and some very relevant screenshots. So, if you want to learn more about MomoClo, look no further than this post! Recommended reading!

P.S. I always thought peaches looked kind of more like butts *ahem* just had to say, Shirow. I’ll stop being creepy now.

Super Junior’s 4th Album MV is Out! Bounce With Me Bounce With Me!

Super Junior’s “미인아 (BONAMANA)” video (OMONA THEY DIDN’T!)

If you were sitting on the edge of your seat at 7PM PST like I was, you must have known that Super Junior’s long, long awaited fourth album promotional single music video (what a mouthful!) is out! I was scrambling to find it on naver and youtube along with everyone else, but now the music video is out on youtube for your viewing pleasure. While I’m totally spazzing out over Yesung’s new look, all the boys (with the exception of Eunhyuk? I’m sorry but DNW that eyeliner ever >_>) look marvelous and I’m very excited for their promotions to begin. What do you think of the new music video? Meets expectations or totally left you bored?

fem~taku Wishes IW a Happy Birthday with a Picspam!

Cake Day (fem~taku)

I’m sorry to hear that Renee was sick on Cake Day! Being sick always sucks (skipping school aside) but it’s especially bad when you’re missing such an important day! But, I’m glad to hear that Renee did manage to eat some brownies in honor of IW even though no photos were included. She rounds off her post with a set of droolicious photos of our favorite H!P girls and now I find myself craving some cheesecake… Recommended Drooling!
